Waterbed

There is hardly a person out there who wouldn't absolutely love to own a waterbed. It's by far one of the most comfortable beds on the markets and perhaps, one of the most fun beds out there too!

Kids and adults alike have made the waterbed one of the most popular beds around, but if you're still a tad unsure about choosing a waterbed for yourself, here's everything you need to know about waterbeds. Waterbeds are beds with 'mattresses' that are filled with water.

Of course these are no regular mattresses as they as usually made from amalgamated plastic such as vinyl and are reinforced by layers to prevent leaks. But at any rate, the best part about water beds, as any bed, is the comfort factor, and in this area waterbeds offer several benefits such as body support, minimal surface pressure for greater comfort, a hygienic surface in which dust mites cannot thrive, and a controllable sleeping temperature.

Moreover, waterbeds do come with different types of mattresses. Mattresses for waterbeds range from free flowing soft to fully stabilized tough, and of course these types are chosen according to individual preference.

If you're thinking that waterbeds sound too good to be true, be prepared to be become even more set in that resolution because, apart from the comfort factor, waterbeds are long lasting and even more durable than regular beds with spring mattresses.

Waterbeds are known to last some 12-15 years and some people have even reported that their waterbeds lasted as long as 20 years.

Leaks may happen from time to time, but again, there are multiple layers of plastic coating that serve to reinforce the bed so that leaks rarely end up on the floor. In the event of punctures, however, simple vinyl repair kits work fantastically since beds are not required to be drained for the patchwork to work.

Moreover, the waterbed's mattress of water will usually only ever be changed under circumstances like having to move, since it needs the addition of water conditioners to prevent growth of algae and bacteria in the mattress's water.

And last but not least, the weight of a waterbed is sometimes the only constraint for potential waterbed owners as a waterbed can weight some 1500lbs. however, since the weight is distributed over a large area, homes and apartments usually have no dilemma in hosting a waterbed.

And certainly homes built to modern building codes can handle the weight of a waterbed without a problem. Moreover because waterbeds, like other beds, come in a variety of shapes, styles and sizes, there should be very little problem finding a waterbed that's right for you.
