Shower Pan CPE Membranes

Shower pan CPE membranes are considered one of the best types of waterproofing membranes to use when doing installing your your shower pan. CPE stands for Chlorinated Polyethylene. CPE membranes comes in different textures and sizes but they all work wonders when it comes to installing a shower pan membrane.

These CPE membranes are so soft and flexible that they are able to bend to any shape that you want and this is great especially when it comes to curves. CPE membranes literally folds themselves up so you do not have to worry about getting them to fit neatly into the shape and form that you want.

Shower pan CPE membranes are becoming more and more popular as builders are realizing just how much easier it makes their work. And because they come in a variety of thicknesses and sizes you can certainly find the right one to suit your project whatever it may be. PVC membranes on the other hand seems to retain what is called “memory” meaning if they were positioned one way and you try positioning them another way they would automatically try to turn themselves back to their original position. This is one of the main drawbacks of PVC membranes.

CPE membrane seem to have no “memory” whatsoever and they can be set in any position that you want and you are guaranteed that they are going to remain in that position. For this reason and also because of its flexibility shower pan CPE membranes have become the number one choice when it comes to membranes. Although CPE membranes are much more expensive than PVC membranes they are well worth the money, because they get the job done much faster and easier than your regular PVC membranes.

These CPE membranes are made from a special type of rubber which is said to be totally indestructible, it does not rot or deteriorate in any way, this is one of the reasons why it is so much more expensive than your regular PVC membrane. For someone who is new at shower pan membrane installation using CPE membrane for their first project would be the ideal choice to use as it will certainly make installation a breeze.
