The best way would be to try some of the many mildew removal products that are available on the market and stick to the one that works best for you.

Or if you prefer you can check to see what products and methods other people are using and you can decide which ones you would like to try.

Although this method would require a lot of trial and error as you may go through a few products well before you finally get the perfect solution to removing mildew from grout.

The secret to removing mildew from grout in all these home remedies and also in the commercial products is to let the mixture stand on the grout for some time before washing it off.

Almost all the remedies mentioned have recommended this method, so it is safe to assume that whatever remedy you decide to try they all require that you leave the cleaning solution on the mildew for a certain amount of time before washing it off.

Some techniques also require that you scrub the mildew off the grout with a grout brush or steel tipped brush, although this method sounds like it will harm the grout, but nevertheless that's what some of the recipes call for.

Chlorine bleach seems to be the number one recommendation for removing mildew from grout. You simply mix the chlorine bleach with water according to the instructions on the label and then you apply it to the mildew on the grout and let it stand from around a half an hour to an hour and then you use a toothbrush to scrub it lightly and then rinse it off with water.

When you are done if you find that all the mildew has not been removed you will have to start the process all over again until all the mildew is finally gone.

As stated before there are literally hundreds of recommendations as to how to successfully remove mildew from grout, but you will have to discover what really works best for you by trial and error.

Just a word of caution as you know mildew develops because of dampness, so after you have taken all the trouble to remove the mildew from your grout you should take all necessary steps to prevent it from regrowing by ensuring that there is enough ventilation in the room to keep it as dry as possible.
