Installing Box Gutters: Gutters come in a variety of sizes and styles; for example there are Half Round Gutters, Box Type Gutters and Duplex Gutters.
The size of a gutter is described in RG measurements, which is basically the internal width of the gutter dimensions in millimeters. There are different ways of attaching a gutter to the eaves of your house such as straps, brackets or hangers.
Box gutters are recommended for garages, balconies and garden sheds and these come equipped with a down pipe system. Here are some tips on installing box gutters with brackets:
Attach the brackets at around 50cm intervals and as you near the end gradually start spacing the brackets at around 2.5mm for every running meter of gutter.
Cut the box gutters to the required size and then drill holes to allow for drainage. Attach the box gutter supports over the front sprouts and the rear bulge using an adhesive.
Clean and stick the end piece to the box gutters, or if you need to join two box gutter spouts together, you will have to use a connection casing and in this instance you will have to stick the end piece to the connecting casing and not the gutters.
Locate the spot where the roof is overhanging the most and connect the down pipe section to the two bends.
