How To Grout Tiles: grouting tiles is not a very difficult task. First of all you have to install your tiles making sure they are straight. You might want to put some spacers between your tiles so that you will get nice straight grout lines.
Now the question is where are you installing the tiles, is it on the floor or is it on the wall. If you are installing floor tiles say in your bathroom or kitchen then you should use sanded grout, for walls you will be better of using non sanded grout.
Grouting floor tiles does not require much tools, basically all you will need is a grout float a couple sponges and a bucket.
Assuming that you are installing floor tiles you will have purchased some sanded grout and you should mix your grout in a plastic bucket according to the manufacturers directions.
Before we go any further you should know that the color of your grout will definitely affect the overall outcome of the way your tiles look.
If you want your grout lines to stand out so that it is quite noticeable then you should choose a darker color grout mix than your tiles, for a more uniform look choose a lighter color grout mix that will make your grout lines look as close in color to your tiles.
Having mixed your grout according to the manufacturers instructions, you are now ready to start grouting your tiles.
Apply a generous amount of grout to a portion of your grout lines using your grout float to push the grout deep down into the grout lines as possible and be sure that it is packed tight and firm into the grooves.
Wipe off the excess grout as you work, with a damp sponge and try to work in a uniformed pattern, meaning don't apply your grout to one end of the floor and then go to the other end, you should work in a pattern.
When you are finished applying your grout to the entire floor leave it to dry and harden for around ten to fifteen minutes and then you can begin the process of washing off the excess grout with a wet sponge.
Do remember to wash out your sponge frequently for best results. Continue applying water to clean off the excess grout until you have covered the entire floor space.
Now that your grout is installed you will have to wait for about a week for it to fully set before you can seal it with a grout sealer. That's it, you are done, surely that was not so difficult.
