Home Bar Designs: In today's home a small bar is practically a necessity hence the need for great home bar designs. Well if not a necessity it is still a very popular addition to any house!

Home bars are a great way to relax and to entertain guests, and they make you home, room or area, that more appealing to be in. but perhaps the greatest thing about a home bar is how simple it is to design.

It is so simple in fact that it can be made to fit into any available space, whether it is at one side of the kitchen, a corner in your living room or in the middle of your recreation room.

Home bars can also be installed as do it yourself projects or the bar furniture can be custom made depending on your budget and size of area. It is so simple because there are basically four types of home bar designs and these designs are nothing more than shapes and storage with the occasional mini fridge and/or sink.

The first type of home bar designs is the 'Straight Bar' which is usually found spanning the length of a wall to the side or back of the kitchen or recreation room, or any room with ample space. This type of bar is made up on one long bar table, with all drinks being stored under the counter.

No less than three bar stools usually grace the other side of the counter and these fit comfortably in a row simply because of the length of the bar table. Behind the bar table there is a sizeable space for a bartender and behind the bartender's space is a wall.

This is usually decorated with mirrors to give that authentic bar look, or it can have additional shelving for bottles or bar glasses, but a bar-glass-unit can also be installed from the ceiling. However, all of these accents will invariably depend on your budget and how much space you can allocate to the bar.

The second type of home bar designs is the 'Back Bar' which is more of a display bar than it is a functional bar. This bar is made of up three parts the first part being a small straight bar with a significantly smaller bar counter under which drinks bottles are stored.

The middle of the bar is typically open for easy access while the third part of this bar design stores drinks bottles and glasses above the counter and accented with glass or wooden shutter doors. Again, further accessorizing the bar area will depend on budget and space available.

The third type of home bar designs is the 'L Shape Wet' bar design and as the name implies the overall layout is in the shape of an L, which means the various bar furniture like the bar counter and storage cabinets are arranged in the shape of an L.

The L shape wet bar designs also gets its name from the inclusion of a small under-mounted bar sink that is usually placed in the crook of the L shape or at a point along one of the two lines in the L.

And the fourth type of home bar designs is the 'corner bar'. This bar is perfect for areas or rooms in which space is an issue. Since this bar design fits neatly into a corner utilizing storage space both on top and at the bottom of the bar counter.

Remember that which ever type of bar designs you choose, the colour scheme, lighting and overall décor is what will give your bar the ultimate finish and make you bar a hit.
