Choose From Different Bathroom Sinks

It can hardly be considered a bathroom if there isn't any bathroom sinks. Because bathroom sinks is so important in any modern bathroom there are many types available on the market today that serve many different functions according to our individual and bathroom needs.

By far one of the most common type of bathroom sinks in homes today is the vanity sink. The vanity sink is basically an under-mounted wash basin that hosts a cabinet beneath it, i.e., it is a sink that is installed in a floor cabinet or cupboard.

These bathroom sinks are available in varying sizes of wash basin and cabinet and come in different materials such as porcelain, ceramic and even metals like brass and copper alloys.

They also come in different shapes, styles, designs and colours to match any décor or personal taste. Perhaps the greatest benefit of this type of bathroom sinks is its storage and counter space that comes as a result of having the cabinet attached.

Another very popular type of bathroom sinks is the pedestal sink which is basically a wash basin that is mounted on top of a freestanding pedestal or leg. Wash basins for these types of sinks come in varying sizes, styles, and are available in a wide variety of colours which is perhaps one of the greatest qualities about this type of sink.

Its elegant, sleek design makes it very space efficient to have basically anywhere in the bathroom as opposed to other sinks that usually have to be fitted into a well thought out design.

A variation of the pedestal sink is a type of sink called a table sink that is mounted on two legs instead of one leg and sits neatly in a table like design.

This type of sink offers more counter space than the pedestal sink but it requires more room, especially depending on the size of table sink you choose to use in the bathroom.

Wall mounted bathroom sinks are becoming increasing popular in today's contemporary bathroom as these sinks, as the name implies, are mounted on the wall and therefore leave a good deal of floor space under it. These bathroom sinks are useful as very functional and space saving sinks and are a great option when working with a small bathroom space.

They work great for washing up and doing toilette routines but there is no counter space and because these sinks are mounted on the wall according to adult heights, they can be difficult for children to use. Bathroom sinks such as the vessel sink are designed purely for aesthetic purposes.

These are sinks that are partly designed to fit into a counter but for the most part they sit on top of the counter. They are often highly decorative and elaborate in design with a semi-wide face basin and looks very much like something you'd see in the Roman Vatican!

Many of these bathroom sinks are used in hotel lobbies and at the end of hallways or corridors when a light washing of the hands maybe necessary because they are quite beautiful and too costly to have locked away in a bathroom.
