The sole purpose of a back door is for security and safety; security and protection to keep unwanted things and people out and wanted things and people in, and safety to ensure that in the vent of fire or other danger there is more than one escape route.
So it is a well established fact that back doors are not only important, they are necessary and no home is complete with out one.
