Choosing An Accurate Bathroom Scale: Most people today are very weight conscious, and almost every home has a bathroom scale, but how accurate is your bathroom scale you wonder.
Well the truth about bathroom scales is that they are all accurate up to a point. Probably the secret is in the type of bathroom scale that you have. There are three major types of bathroom scales; the more modern digital display type scales and the older mechanicaland electronic bathroom scales.
Mechanical bathroom scales: When you step on a mechanical bathroom scale the pressure that is applied to the platform of the scale makes the hand of the circular dial (like the face of a clock) move up and point to the number on the dial to give you a reading. Sometimes it is difficult to determine what the actual figure is as these are usually indicated by lines.
Electrical bathroom scales: These scales are basically an upgrade if you will of the mechanical bathroom scales, the only difference is there are no hands on the circular dial, and instead there is a little opening in the platform that gives you a reading of your weight. Most people find it much easier to determine the reading of these scales as they are written in actual numbers.
Digital bathroom scales: These are the new state of the art scales that give you a digital reading on a display type screen. These scales come in a wide selection of styles and sizes; they are easy to read and are by far the most expensive type of scale.
The latest trend in these digital bathroom scales is the body-fat scale. This type of scale has builtin pressure-contact electrodes that send a low current through your body to measure its resistance.
What this scale does is calculate the resistance reading plus the weight and height of your body and sends out a reading telling you whether you are underweight or overweight for your height. This type of scale is usually seen at pharmacies and gyms.
When choosing a bathroom scale, look for one that is accurate, easy to read, and of course one that is able to fit into the space in your bathroom. Another important factor in determining the type of bathroom scale you choose is it must be able to match your overall bathroom décor.
